Our History:
The Booneville Fire Department, established in 1941, serves the City of Booneville, MS providing fire suppression, auto extraction, emergency medical response, and technical rescue. With a Chief, Fire Inspector, and 27 operational staff working a 24/48 shift schedule, we operate one aerial truck, two pumpers, a rescue truck, and a mini pumper to aid the county departments.
Our Mission:
The mission of the Booneville Fire Department is to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Booneville, MS from fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials incidents; to save lives by assisting emergency medical services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs; and to provide a work environment that values cultural diversity and is free of harassment and discrimination.
Our Team:
Fire Chief - Bobby Agnew
Fire Chief Bobby Agnew started his career with BFD in 1989 serving the City of Booneville for 35 years, becoming Chief in 2022. Certified in NFPA 1001, Auto Extrication, Rope Rescue, and other technical classes (Totaling around 550 certification hours through the MS State Fire Academy) .
Fire Inspector - Jerius Maxey
Fire Inspector Jerius Maxey started his career with BFD in 2006 serving the City of Booneville for 18 years, becoming Fire Inspector in 2021. BS in Fire and Emergency Management. Associates of Applied Science with concentration in Paramedic. Certified NFPA 1001, Fire Officer 1021 I-II, Fire and Life Safety Educator 1035 I-III, Fire Inspector 1031 I, Fire Investigator 1033, Safety Officer, and other technical rescue and Haz-Mat certifications (Totaling around 1400 certification hours through the MS State Fire Academy).
