2023

January 14, 2023

On January 14, 2024, detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division began investigating an incident of shoplifting more than $2,400.00 worth of merchandise from a business on N. Second Street. Two suspects were identified as John Henry Dyes, 43 of Clarksdale, MS and Kimberly Shovonne Stewart, 37 of Clarksdale, MS. The two were apprehended on 01/22/2024 while attempting to commit further theft from the same location. Once in custody, detectives discovered the pair were being sought by multiple other agencies across north Mississippi for additional charges. Our agency is collaborating with these agencies in this case. As a result of the investigation, each was charged with one felony count of shoplifting and set a $10,000.00 bond. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

January 11, 2023

On January 11, 2024, patrol officers responded to a residential area on N. College Street for a reported disturbance in progress. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Jayce Bryson West, 21 of Booneville, for misdemeanor offenses. During his arrest, Mr. West was also discovered to be in possession of marijuana. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division, and Mr. West was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of marijuana enhanced with a firearm. His bond was set at $25,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

January 9, 2023

On January 9, 2024, patrol officers responded to a reported shoplifting from a business on N. Second Street. The suspect was identified as Justin Scott Mercer, 34 of Rienzi. Officers took him into custody at the scene and discovered he was in possession of alleged methamphetamine. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division, and Mr. Mercer was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

January 7, 2023

On January 07, 2024, patrol officers received a report of an altercation at a residence on Elm Street that resulted in substantial property damage. The suspect was identified as Terry Dewayne Edge Jr., 36 of Booneville. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division, and Mr. Edge was taken into custody on 01/11/2024. He was charged with one felony count of malicious mischief, and his bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

December 16, 2023

On December 16, 2023, patrol officers responded to a reported disturbance at a residence on McClamroch Drive. Investigation at the scene determined that one suspect, Randy Wade Wheelington, 54 of Booneville, had an outstanding arrest warrant. Once he was taken into custody, he was discovered to be in possession of a felony amount of alleged methamphetamine. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division, and Mr. Wheelington was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than two grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

December 15, 2023

On December 15, 2023, patrol officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at an unoccupied commercial property on Bryant Street. Upon arrival, officers detained one suspect outside of a building on the premises. Through investigation at the scene, officers determined the suspect outside of the building was a juvenile, who they subsequently released. They also determined a second suspect had gone inside of the building and fled prior to their arrival. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division who identified the suspect who illegally entered the property as Zachariah Lavoy Cooper, 19 of Booneville. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was taken into custody on 12/20/2023. He was charged with one felony count of burglary of a commercial building, and his bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

December 10, 2023

On December 10, 2023, patrol officers responded to a location on Mimosa Street for a reported suspicious person going door-to-door asking for money. Responding officers identified the suspect as Monte Deshaud Cox, 26 of Booneville, and located him near the area of the call. Officers detained Mr. Cox to investigate. Officers discovered Mr. Cox was in possession of a felony amount of alleged methamphetamine. They arrested Mr. Cox and transferred the case to the Criminal Investigation Division. Mr. Cox was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

December 9, 2023

On December 09, 2023, patrol officers executed a misdemeanor arrest warrant on Montana Grace Woodruff, 22 of Booneville, at a residence on North College Street. Investigation during the arrest led officers to discover Ms. Woodruff was in possession of a felony amount of alleged methamphetamine. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division, and Ms. Woodruff was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

December 5, 2023

On December 5, 2023, patrol officers received a 911 call that was transferred from Alcorn County, MS regarding a possible kidnapping from Booneville. According to the caller, one victim had allegedly been taken against their will from the parking lot of a business off of North Second Street in Booneville. Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division were notified. The suspect was identified as Nicholas Xavier Beauregard, 20 of Walnut, MS. The victim was located unharmed along with Mr. Beauregard by sheriff’s deputies in Hardeman County, TN. Mr. Beauregard was taken into custody and detained pending investigation. The victim was released, and charges were signed against Mr. Beauregard the same night. A warrant was issued for his arrest on 12/06/2023. Mr. Beauregard waived extradition from Hardeman County, TN and was transferred to our agency on 12/08/2023. He was subsequently charged with one felony count of kidnapping. His bond was set at $75,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. We would like to thank the citizens and officers who assisted in the quick resolution in this case.

December 1, 2023

On December 1, 2023, patrol officers responded to a residence at Sunflower Housing for a reported unwanted guest. Once on scene, officers encountered Jaylen Marques Taylor, 26 of Booneville, acting disorderly and causing a public disturbance. Mr. Taylor was taken into custody for misdemeanor offenses. Investigation during the encounter also led officers to discover Mr. Taylor was in possession of a felony amount of marijuana. The case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division, and Mr. Taylor was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of marijuana, more than 30 grams but less than 250 grams. His bond was set at $2,500.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

November 25, 2023

On November 25, 2023, patrol officers responded to a residence at Sunflower Housing for a reported disturbance and assault. Upon arrival, officers encountered one victim with injuries and determined the suspects had fled the scene. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division. Subsequent investigation led to arrest of the following suspects:

Kimberly Felicia Price, 43 of Booneville – charged with one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $30,000.

Katayja Sharnay Price, 22 of Booneville – charged with one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $20,000.00.

Latoya Anquoinette Price, 41 of Booneville – charged with one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $50,000.00.

The victim was treated for their injuries and released. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

November 24, 2023

On November 24, 2023, patrol officers responded to a residence on Carolina Road to investigate a reported stolen firearm. Officers confirmed that the weapon had been reported stolen to another agency and took custody of the weapon. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation  Division. As a result, Bradley Jerome Green, 43 of Booneville, was taken into custody on 11/28/2023. He was charged with one felony count of possession of a stolen firearm and one felony count of weapon possession by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $60,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

November 24, 2023

On November 24, 2023, patrol officers responded to a residence on East Church Street for a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers encountered one victim and one suspect identified as Bryson Glenford-Wayne Hyde, 30 of Booneville. Investigation at the scene led officers to take him into custody. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division. Mr. Hyde was charged with one felony count of aggravated domestic violence assault. His bond was set at $40,000.00. The victim was treated for their injuries and released. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

November 16, 2023

On November 16, 2023, patrol officers took a report of a stolen vehicle that was taken from a residence on Mile Branch Street. Patrol officers and detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division began investigating the theft. During investigation, our agency was notified that the vehicle had been located and recovered by the Tippah County Sherriff’s Office. The suspect driving the vehicle at the time it was recovered was identified as William Wayne Pannell, 20 of Booneville. Mr. Pannell was taken into custody and transferred to our agency. Mr. Pannell was charged with one felony count of taking a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. We would like to thank the officers of the Tippah County Sherriff’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.

November 13, 2023

On November 13, 2023, patrol officers responded to a storage facility on North College Street for a reported burglary. The suspect was identified as Johnnie Lee Lambert, 49 of Booneville. As officers were leaving the scene, they encountered Mr. Lambert and took him into custody for unrelated charges. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division. As a result of the investigation, Mr. Lambert was charged with one felony count of burglary of a commercial building. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

November 11, 2023

On November 11, 2023, patrol officers responded to a business on N. Second Street for a reported shoplifting. Upon arrival, officers determined that the value of the items taken was valued at more than $1,000.00 and turned the case over to the Criminal Investigation Division. Subsequently, Cody Jordan Britt Weeks, 28 of Rienzi, MS, was charged with one felony count of shoplifting. His bond was set at $2,500.00. The stolen property was returned to the business at the time of Mr. Weeks’ arrest. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

November 9, 2023

On November 09, 2023, our Criminal Investigation Division began investigating several reported incidents of shoplifting from a business on Walmart Circle. The aggregated value of the items taken over the course of approximately 30 days exceeded $4,200.00. The suspect was identified as Brandie Lynn Smith, 44 of Booneville. She was taken into custody on 11/15/2023 and charged with one felony count of shoplifting. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

November 6, 2023

On November 6, 2023, patrol officers responded to a reported disturbance on Lake Street and encountered Donald Dewayne Spencer, 41 of Booneville. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Mr. Spencer for misdemeanor offenses. Once detained, Mr. Spencer was found to be in possession of a felony amount of alleged methamphetamine. His case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division, and Mr. Spencer was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

November 3, 2023

On November 3, 2023, patrol officers received a report of theft from a business on West Chambers Drive. The value of the items taken from the business totaled approximately $5,850.00. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division. On 11/08/2023, Terry Lee Dykes Jr., 46 of Booneville, was taken into custody and charged with one felony count of grand larceny. His bond was set at $5,000.00. Most of the stolen property was recovered from a residence in Prentiss County and returned to the business. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 30, 2023

On October 30, 2023, patrol officers responded to a residence on Stanley Street for a reported assault with injuries that occurred on 10/29/2023. Upon arrival, officers encountered one victim with significant injuries. They had already received treatment for their injuries and been released by medical personnel. The victim reported they had been assaulted with a blunt instrument at a location on South Lake Street the previous evening. The suspect was identified as William Justin Thomas, 40 of Booneville. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Mr. Thomas, and he was apprehended on 10/31/2023. Mr. Thomas was also wanted for questioning in an ongoing burglary investigation involving the theft of several items from a location on Nicholson Street. He was subsequently charged with one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one felony count of burglary of a building. His bond was set at $75,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 23, 2023

On October 23, 2023, patrol officers responded to a business N. Second Street for a reported shoplifting. Officers arrived and investigated the alleged shoplifting. As a result of their investigation, they discovered Shelby John Holley, 48, of Booneville, was in possession of alleged methamphetamine. As a result, he was taken into custody, and the case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division. Mr. Holley was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 21, 2023

On 10/21/2023, patrol officers took a report of a residential burglary at a home located on Jacinto Road. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division, and on 11/06/2023, Dallas Blake Fischeal, 19 of Booneville, was arrested and charged with one felony count of burglary of a dwelling. His bond was set at $20,000.00. Some of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 21, 2023

On October 21, 2023, patrol officers went to a residence on Suburban Drive to execute an arrest warrant. As officers arrived, they observed a vehicle fleeing from the rear of the residence and into a nearby field headed toward Summer Lane. As officers responded to Summer Lane to locate the fleeing vehicle, they discovered the vehicle had stopped. They immediately took the driver into custody and identified him as Bradley Madison Foy, 46, of Booneville. Officers also took the female passenger, Nilia Marie Johnson, 36, of Monticello, AR, into custody. Both subjects were found to be in possession of methamphetamine at the time of their arrest. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division. As a result, each suspect was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, and each was set a $20,000.00 bond. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 21, 2023

On October 21, 2023, patrol officers responded to a residence on Jefferson Street for a reported disturbance. Investigation by the officers at the scene indicated that a domestic violence assault occurred. Therefore, officers took one suspect into custody and identified him as Tommy Cotton III, 32 of Philadelphia, MS. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division. Further investigation led Mr. Cotton to be charged with one felony count of aggravated domestic violence. His bond was set at $30,000.00. The victim in this case was evaluated, treated, and released for their injuries. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 20, 2023

On 10/20/2023, a BPD patrol officer initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle traveling on S. Bryant Street for a misdemeanor traffic violation. The officer investigated and found the driver, Chasity Ann Davis, 34, of Booneville, to be in possession of what they believed to be methamphetamine. The officer took Ms. Davis into custody and transferred the case to the Criminal Investigation Division. Ms. Davis was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 17, 2023

On October 17, 2023, patrol officers responded to a residence on Elm Street for reported damage to property. The report was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division. The investigation led to the subsequent arrest of Clarence Lee Kincaid, 30 of Booneville, for one felony count of malicious mischief for causing over $1,500.00 in damage to the residential property. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 17, 2023

On October 17, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a location on College Street to investigate suspicious activity. Officers arrived and witnessed the driver of a motor vehicle throw a large bag from a motor vehicle. Officers detained the driver of the vehicle and identified him as Javian Ahmad McMillen, 19 of Aberdeen, MS. He was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of marijuana, more than 30 grams but less than 250 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 14, 2023

On October 14, 2023, a Booneville patrol officer encountered Dustin Blade Asher, 21 of Booneville, at a location on Park Street. Investigation during the encounter led to the arrest of Mr. Asher on one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 11, 2023

On October 11, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a location on East Skyline Drive for a reported assault. Officers arrived and found one victim with injuries. They took one suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as Justin Wade Rone, 32 of Booneville. The victim received medical treatment for their injuries and was released the same date. The case was turned over to Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division. Mr. Rone was subsequently charged with one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $30,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 7, 2023

On October, 7, 2023, Booneville patrol officers encountered Brady Thomas Burrell, 37 of Corinth, MS at a location on Cedar Drive. Investigation during the encounter led to the arrest of Mr. Burrell on one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 3, 2023

On October, 3, 2023, the Booneville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division began investigating an incident involving the unauthorized use of credit/debit cards at multiple locations in Booneville. The investigation led to the arrest of two suspects: 

Jessica Lorraine George, 54 of Booneville – charged with one felony count of fraudulently obtaining goods. Her bond was set at $2,500.00. 

Candace Carol Livingston, 38 of Booneville – charged with one felony count of fraudulently obtaining goods. Her bond was set at $2,500.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

October 3, 2023

On October, 3, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a location on Kayla Avenue to investigate suspicious activity. Officers located a vehicle parked in the woods and identified the driver/occupant as Sonya Chrelle Cleveland, 49 of Iuka, MS. Investigation determined Ms. Cleveland was wanted by another law enforcement agency. She was taken into custody. She was also determined to be in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest. She was subsequently charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

September 20, 2023

On September 20, 2023, patrol officers responded to multiple reported burglaries at several locations throughout the city. Officers also learned that a firearm was discharged multiple times during one of the burglaries. No one was injured, but the shots caused damage to personal property at the scene. Investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division led to the arrest of Zachery Kaden Dixon, 20 of Booneville. Mr. Dixon was charged with the following:

One felony count of burglary of an automobile at a residence on Colonial Drive

Two felony counts of burglary of an automobile at a residence on South Fourth Street

One felony count of burglary of a dwelling at a residence on South Fourth Street

One felony count of burglary of an automobile at a residence on Davis Street

One felony count of aggravated assault with a firearm at a residence on Jackson Street

One felony count of burglary of an automobile at a residence on Jackson Street

One felony count of shooting a motor vehicle at a residence on Jackson Street

One felony count of shooting into a dwelling at a residence on Jackson Street

One felony count of burglary of a dwelling at a residence on Crestwood Circle

Two felony counts of burglary of an automobile at a second residence on Colonial Drive

One felony count of burglary of an automobile at a residence on North Street

Mr. Dixon’s bond was set at $300,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. A juvenile was also charged in this case.

September 25, 2023

On September 25, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a business on North Second Street for a reported shoplifting incident. Investigation at the scene determined that a suspect provided forged receipts at the point of sale at the business to steal over $3,800.00 worth of merchandise. The suspect fled the scene, taking the stolen items with him. He was identified as Alanzo Charles Brittenum, 19 of Memphis, TN. The case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division. Collaboration with other agencies resulted in the arrest of Mr. Brittenum and his subsequent transfer back to Booneville. He was charged with one felony count of shoplifting. His bond was set at $50,000.00. The stolen property was recovered at the time of his arrest. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. September 22, 2023

On September 22, 2023, a Booneville patrol officer stopped a vehicle on W. College Street for a misdemeanor traffic offense. Investigation during the traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver, Bradley Jerome Green, 43 of Booneville, for one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

 

September 21, 2023

On September 21, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a business on S. Second Street for a reported burglary in progress. Officers made a stop on the suspect vehicle as it left the immediate area. Investigation during the stop and at the initial scene led to the arrest of two suspects:

Michael Hugh Armstrong, 27 of Tupelo, MS. He is charged with three felony counts of burglary of a commercial property or auto and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $150,000.00.

Kacy Marie Huckaby, 28 of Marietta, MS. She is charged with three felony counts of burglary of a commercial property or auto and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $75,000.00.

This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

September 21, 2023

On September 21, 2023, a Booneville patrol officer responded to a business on N. Second Street for a reported burglary in progress. The officer apprehended the suspect at the location and took him into custody. The suspect was identified as Archer Ansen Christian, 53 of Booneville. Investigation determined Mr. Christian had broken into the business on at least two other occasions. He was charged with three felony counts of burglary of a commercial building. His bond was set at $75,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

September 19, 2023

On September, 19, 2023, Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division opened an investigation stemming from the damage and destruction of commercial property on Loveless Road. Investigation led to the arrest of Morgan Joe Hall, 26 of Booneville. He is charged with one felony count of malicious mischief. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

September 18, 2023

On September 18, 2023, patrol officers responded to a business on Second Street to investigate a reported shoplifting incident. Investigation led to the identification of two suspects. The first suspect was taken into custody on 09/02/2023 in a neighboring jurisdiction. The information surrounding her apprehension was released by our agency on 09/18/2023. The second suspect, Detreatk Yavette Green, 32 of Corinth, MS, was transferred from another agency to our custody on 10/20/2023. She was charged with one felony count of shoplifting. Her bond was set at $20,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. 

September 13, 2023

On September 13, 2023, Booneville Patrol Officers responded to a business located on South Second Street to a reported commercial burglary. Upon arrival, officers located a suspect, identified, and detained him. Andy Ambrocio, 29 of Booneville was subsequently arrested and charged with one felony count of burglary of a commercial property. His bond was set at $20,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

September 3, 2023

On September, 3, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a location on Second Street for a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers encountered one victim with injuries. The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment and released on the same date. The suspect was identified as Kerry Allan Sanders, 55 of Booneville. The case was turned over to Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division. On 09/06/2023, Mr. Sanders was arrested and charged with one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one felony count of armed robbery. His bond was set at $60,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

September 3, 2023

On September 03, 2023, Booneville Patrol Officers responded to the railroad tracks near downtown Booneville and encountered an intoxicated subject. Officers detained and identified the subject as Jimmy Adam Rogers, 31 of Booneville. He was initially arrested for a felony count of possession of methamphetamine more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams, but while in custody, Mr. Rogers escaped temporarily. He was apprehended immediately following his escape and subsequently charged with an additional felony count of escaping police custody. His bond was set at $50,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

August 26, 2023

On August 27, 2023, Booneville Patrol Officers responded to a residence on North College Street for a reported incident of domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and arrested Joel Daniel Curtiss, 38 of Booneville, for one felony count of aggravated domestic violence by strangulation. His bond was set at $20,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. 

August 26, 2023

On August 26, 2023, Booneville Patrol Officers responded to the area of Sunflower Housing for a report of multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found one victim with injuries and determined multiple suspects fled the area. Investigation into the incident resulted in multiple arrests. 

Prinston Lashard Nunn, 20 of Booneville – Charged with three felony counts of aggravated Assault with a firearm, two felony counts of shooting into a dwelling, and one felony count of possession of a stolen firearm. His bond was set at $120,000.00.

Jason Marshaun Miller, 35 of Booneville – Charged with three felony counts of aggravated Assault with a firearm, two felony counts of shooting into a dwelling, one felony count of possession of a stolen firearm, and one felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is currently in custody and has been denied bond. Mr. Miller was the party injured during the altercation. He was treated for his injuries and released from medical care prior to his arrest.

Jermaine Keyon King, 20 of Booneville – Charged with one felony count of attempted murder, one felony count of aggravated assault with a firearm, and three felony counts of shooting at a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $120,000.00.

Kelvin Lashun Williams, 19 of Booneville – Charged with one felony count of attempted murder, one felony count of aggravated assault with a firearm, and three felony counts of shooting at a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $300,00.00.

Jayden Isaiah William Friar, 21 of Booneville – Charged with one felony count of attempted murder, one felony count of aggravated assault with a firearm, and three felony counts of shooting at a motor vehicle. He is currently being held without bond.

A fifth suspect is still at large in this case, Veronica Grace Gillespie, 19 of Booneville. She is considered to be armed and dangerous. On August 18, 2023, Booneville Patrol Officers responded to a business on North Second Street for a reported incident of shoplifting. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Maleka Keyona Burns, 27 of Corinth, MS. She is charged with one felony count of shoplifting. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

August 14, 2023

On August 14, 2023, patrol officers and detectives of the Booneville Police Department responded to a location on N. Second Street for a report of a subject attempting to break into a motor vehicle. The suspect was located, and the investigation began. Officers determined that the incident stemmed from an act of domestic violence at a second location on N. Second Street just prior to the arrival of officers on scene. Officers located all involved parties and determined that one of the parties illegally entered the motor vehicle of another involved party and removed personal property. As a result, one subject was arrested for one misdemeanor count of domestic violence, and a second subject, Moses Rico Brandon Jr., 22 of Tishomingo, MS, was arrested and charged with one felony count of burglary of an auto. His bond was set at $25,000.00. The stolen personal property was recovered and returned to the owner. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

August 13, 2023

On August 13, 2023, officers from the Booneville Police Department patrol division responded to a location on W. Chambers Drive for a reported shooting incident. Officers arrived and encountered one victim with a minor injury. The victim reported that they had been involved in an altercation at a residence nearby on W. Chambers Drive that resulted in one suspect firing a handgun at them and grazing them. The victim’s injury was evaluated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and did not require additional treatment. Officers proceeded to the scene where the altercation occurred and arrested Bobby Edward Wood, 57 of Booneville. He was charged with one felony count of aggravated assault using a firearm. This case is still under investigation by detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division. Mr. Wood’s bond was set at $25,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

August 7, 2023

On August 07, 2023, officers from the Booneville Police Department patrol division responded to a residence on East Chambers Drive for a reported residential burglary. Officers arrived and encountered Cody Dwayne Stover, 31 of Corinth, MS. Investigation led to his arrest for one felony count of burglary of a building. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. 

August 7, 2023

On August 07, 2023, officers from the Booneville Police Department patrol division responded to a call at a business on North Second Street. Investigation at the scene resulted in the arrest of George Sherman Brown, 56 of Booneville, for one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

July 29, 2023

On July 29, 2023, an officer from the Booneville Police Department patrol division attempted to stop a vehicle at a business on North Second Street for a misdemeanor moving violation. When the officer attempted the stop, the vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed disregarding traffic devices and other motorists. Patrol officers pursued the vehicle to an intersection on Prentiss County Road 1211 where the motorist was taken into custody and identified as Jordan Hunter Cunningham, 20 of Guntown, MS. He was charged with one felony count of eluding law enforcement (Fleeing). His bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. 

July 23, 2023

On July 23, 2023, an officer from the Booneville Police Department patrol division encountered Kara Lynn Rantz, 38 of Booneville, operating a motor vehicle without a license plate. The officer conducted a stop of the vehicle and subsequent investigation which led to her arrest for one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. Her bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

July 23, 2023

On July 23, 2023, an officer from the Booneville Police Department patrol division encountered Terry Dewayne Edge Jr., 36 of Booneville, operating a motor vehicle on East Church Street. The officer initiated contact with Mr. Edge at a nearby business for a traffic violation and conducted an investigation. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Mr. Edge for one felony count of possession of methamphetamine more than 1/10th of a gram but less than two grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

July 19, 2023

On June 04, 2023, our Criminal Investigation Division began investigating allegations that Jayce Bryson West, 20 of Booneville, engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a fifteen-year-old minor child. A warrant was issued for his arrest on 06/05/2023 and officers began the search for Mr. West. On July 19, 2023, Mr. West was taken into custody and charged with one felony count of statutory rape. His bond was set at $40,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

July 11, 2023

On July 11, 2023, patrol officers initiated a traffic stop for misdemeanor traffic offenses near a business on N. Second street. Investigation led to the discovery of alleged methamphetamine. The two adult occupants of the motor vehicle were identified as Alexandrea Nicole Head, 37 of Waterford, MS (driver), and Connie Lynn Yeager, 46 of Corinth, MS. A minor child was also present inside of the motor vehicle. Ms. Yeager and Ms. Head were each charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 2 grams but less than 10 grams. Each was also charged with one felony count of child abuse for allowing the presence of a minor during drug possession. Each was set a $40,000.00 bond. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. 

July 9, 2023

On July 9, 2023, patrol officers encountered a suspicious male subject while checking the parking area of a residential complex on Marietta Street. As officers attempted to approach the subject to identify him, he tossed something to the ground that appeared to be an illegal substance. Officers recovered the discarded item, which appeared to be alleged methamphetamine. They detained the male subject and identified him as Destin Blake Barnett, 27 of Booneville. He was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. 

July 8, 2023

On July 8, 2023, patrol officers responded to Mile Branch Street for a report of suspicious activity and possible theft of property. Officers located two males who appeared to be intoxicated and identified them as Cody Allen Chambers, 34 of Booneville, and Joshua Dale McMahan, 37 of Booneville. During their investigation, officers discovered both subjects had outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrants with our agency. Both were also found to be in possession of alleged methamphetamine. They were arrested, and each was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 10 grams but less than 20 grams. Each was set a $10,000.00 bond. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. No theft of property occurred.

July 1, 2023

On July 1, 2023, Booneville patrol officers encountered Cody Lee Brown, 37 of Rienzi, MS, during a traffic stop on Jim Drewery Drive. During the stop, officers discovered Mr. Brown had outstanding arrest warrants with our agency. One of the warrants was for an incident that occurred in November of 2021 on Magnolia Drive when Mr. Brown allegedly caused damage to a motor vehicle during a domestic dispute. Mr. Brown was charged with one felony count of malicious mischief. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

July 1, 2023

On July 1, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a residence on Merrill Drive for a reported domestic disturbance. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Darnorez Armond Pams, 24 of Booneville, for one felony count of domestic violence – aggravated assault. His bond was set at $50,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. The victim received medical treatment and was released on the same date.

June 19, 2023

On June 19, 2023, Booneville patrol officers conducting patrol on N. Smith Street, encountered and arrested Lee Vester Gamble, 65, of Booneville, for an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant with our agency. During the investigation, officers discovered Mr. Gamble was in possession of alleged methamphetamine. He was charged with one felony count of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

June 16, 2023

On June 16, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a reported suspicious male subject walking in the area of West College Street. Officers arrived and encountered Timothy Durrell Rodgers, 44, of Blue Springs, MS. Investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Rodgers for one felony count of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

June 12, 2023

On June 12, 2023, the Booneville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division arrested and charged Corey Adam Fielding, 33 of Glen, MS, with one felony count of Sexual Battery. His bond was set at $100,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. No additional details will be released in this case at this time because the investigation is still ongoing.

June 11, 2023

On June 11, 2023, a Booneville patrol officer made a traffic stop of a motor vehicle on Hatchie Street for a misdemeanor traffic offense and identified the driver as Brian Gregory McGee, 32 of Rienzi, MS. A passenger in the vehicle was also identified and confirmed to have an active misdemeanor arrest warrant. Mr. McGee was discovered to have an active misdemeanor arrest warrant and was taken into custody. During his arrest, Mr. McGee was discovered to be in possession of alleged methamphetamine. He was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. The misdemeanor offenses will be handled in Booneville Municipal Court.

June 8, 2023

On June 8, 2023, Booneville patrol officers conducting a safety checkpoint on N. College Street, encountered Montana Grace Woodruff, 21 of Booneville. She was discovered to be in possession of alleged methamphetamine. She was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

June 7, 2023

On June 7, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Adams Street and Third Street. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the driver of one of the motor vehicles for possession of alleged methamphetamine. The driver was identified as Brandon Scott Cook, 36 of Booneville. He was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

June 4, 2023

On June 4, 2023, a Booneville patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a motor vehicle on E. Church Street for a misdemeanor traffic violation. Investigation during the stop led to the identification of the passenger in the vehicle as Jimmy Ray Taylor, 46 of Booneville. Mr. Taylor had an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant with our agency and was taken into custody. During the arrest, he was also discovered to be in possession of alleged crack cocaine. He was charged with one felony count of possession of crack cocaine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

June 1, 2023

On June 1, 2023, Booneville patrol officers received a report of a stolen tractor from a location on E. Church Street. Investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division and Investigators with the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department led to the arrest of Jonathan Alexander Rice, 22 of Booneville. He was charged with one felony count of grand larceny. His bond was set at $5,000.00. The stolen property was returned to the owner. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

June 1, 2023

On June 1, 2023, Booneville patrol officers took a report of the burglary of a residence on E. Loveless Road. Investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division led to the arrest of Laken Koral Smith, 30 of Booneville. She is charged with one felony count of breaking and entering a dwelling house. Her bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 30, 2023

On May 30, 3023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a residence in Sunflower Housing. During their investigation, one of the officers placed Ranesha Lasonia McGaha, 38 of Booneville, under arrest for disorderly conduct. While the officer was affecting their arrest, Ms. McGaha assaulted the officer causing minor injuries. She was subsequently charged with one felony count of simple assault on a police officer in the line of duty. Her bond was set at $30,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 29, 2023

On May 29, 2023, Booneville patrol officers received a report of a domestic assault. Investigation led to the arrest of DeJesus Laterance Rogers, 26, of Booneville later in the day for one felony count of aggravated domestic violence assault. His bond was set at $50,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. The victim in this case was treated at a local medical facility and released the same day.

May 26, 2023

On May 26, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a residence on August Circle for a reported stolen vehicle. Investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division led to the arrest of Richard Devone Stafford, 57 of Booneville, on May 31, 2023. He was charged with one felony count of taking a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $10,000.00. The vehicle was located and returned to the owner. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 24, 2023

On August 17, 2021, detectives of the Booneville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division began investigating a reported embezzlement from an industrial manufacturing plant in Booneville. Investigation led to the arrest of Quortez Dentae Patterson, 31, of Dennis, MS on May 24, 2023. MHP assisted with the arrest. Mr. Patterson was ultimately charged with the embezzlement of over $10,000.00 from the industry in Booneville. His bond was set at $40,000.00.

On May 22, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a residence on Parkwood Grove to investigate a report of a family disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered Candace Carol Livingston, 38, of Booneville. Officers discovered Ms. Livingston was in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest. As a result, she was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 21, 2023

On May 21, 2023, officers went to a residence located on Marietta Street to follow up on a previous call at another location. When they arrived, they encountered Vernon Ray Smith, 50, of Booneville. Investigation led to the arrest of Mr. Smith on one felony count of trafficking methamphetamine. His bond was set at $40,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 20, 2023

On May 20, 2023, Booneville patrol officers attempted to stop the driver of a motorcycle traveling on Lakeview Drive for misdemeanor traffic offenses. The driver was identified as Jacob Garrett Dawson, 30, of Booneville. Mr. Dawson failed to stop for officers resulting in a pursuit. Officers terminated the pursuit, and Mr. Dawson fled the area on foot. Mr. Dawson was located on May 22, 2023, and apprehended. He was charged with one felony count of failing to stop when an officer signals. His bond was set at $20,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 16, 2023

On May 16, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a residence on Long Street to investigate a burglary in progress. While in route to the scene, officers encountered a male subject matching the suspect’s description provided by the caller. Officers stopped the suspect and detained him for investigation. The suspect was identified as Arsenio Remeze Chandler, 33, of Booneville.

 Investigation quickly determined that he had broken into an outbuilding behind a residence on Long Street and stolen several items. As a result, Mr. Chandler was charged with one felony count of burglary of a commercial building. His bond was set at $60,000.00. The stolen property was returned to the owner. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 15, 2023

On May 15, 2023, Booneville officers and detectives began investigating a residential burglary on August Circle. Investigation determined that a juvenile was involved in the burglary at the direction of an adult. As a result, one adult, Clara Deann Hurd, 26, of Booneville, was arrested on May 23, 2023, and charged with one count of burglary of a dwelling and one felony count of directing a minor to commit an offense. Her bond was set at $40,000.00. The stolen property was recovered in this case. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

 

Ms. Hurd was also investigated for taking a motor vehicle from a business on Wal-Mart Circle. The vehicle was reported stolen on May 16, 2023. Investigation led to the arrest of Ms. Hurd on May 18, 2023. She was charged with one felony count of taking a motor vehicle. Her bond was set at $30,000.00. She is also under the supervision of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. 

May 12, 2023

On May 12, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a residence on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a report of destruction of private property and a disturbance. Investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division led to the arrest of Nicolas Jordan Romano, 25 of Nettleton, MS. He was charged with one felony count of malicious mischief. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 12, 2023

On May 12, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to East Church Street for a report of a male subject walking down the street with a weapon in his hand. Officers located the subject and identified him as Kevin Ray Strickland, 44, of Booneville. Officers discovered Mr. Strickland was in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine. As a result, he was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 10, 2023

RELEASE OF INFORMATION:

On May 10, 2023, at approximately 7:30 AM, Booneville Police received a call regarding the discovery of, what appeared to be, a human fetus at a lift station off of Jacinto Road. The discovery was reported by a city water department employee performing maintenance at the station. Officers arrived on scene at approximately 7:35 AM. Procedures to safely remove the alleged fetus took several hours, but were completed at approximately 3:30 PM. Once the recovery was verified as human, it was turned over to the Prentiss County Coroner and taken to Jackson for testing.

May 8, 2023

On May 8, 2023, Booneville patrol officers encountered Kerry Allan Sanders, 55, of Booneville, while investigating an alleged assault. Officers took Mr. Sanders into custody and discovered he was in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine. As a result, he was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 2 grams but less than 10 grams. His bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 8, 2023

On May 8, 2023, detective of the Booneville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division began investigating a reported stolen boat. Investigation led to the arrest of James Cameron Allen Russell, 27, of Booneville for one felony count of grand larceny. His bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. The property in this case was destroyed prior to the arrest of Mr. Russell.

May 5, 2023

On May 5, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a vacant residence on Park Street where they encountered two male subjects who were trespassing. The two men were taken into custody for trespassing. One of the men was identified as Allen Christopher Miller, 18, of Tupelo, MS. Officers discovered Mr. Miller was in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine and oxycodone. Mr. Miller was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. He was also charged with one felony count of possession of Oxycodone. His bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

May 1, 2023

On May 1, 2023, Detectives of the Booneville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division began investigating a reported residential burglary on August Circle. Investigation led to the arrest of two suspects on May 3, 2023. They are as follows:

Derrick Anthony Nichols, 45, of Booneville.

Kimberly Sharee Nichols, 36, of Booneville.

Each is charged with one felony count of burglary of a dwelling and set a bond at $20,000.00. Some of the stolen property was recovered in this case. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

April 24, 2023

On April 24, 2023, Booneville patrol officers encountered a subject causing a disturbance walking down College Street. Officers identified the subject as Patrick Bernard Nichols, 44, of Booneville. Officers took him into custody and discovered he was in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine. Mr. Nichols was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 2 grams but less than 10 grams. He was also charged as a habitual offender. His bond was set at $40,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

April 24, 2023

On April 24, 2023, detectives of the Booneville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division began investigating a reported theft from a residence located on North College Street. Investigation led to the arrest of Rhonda Harrington Tollison on May 4, 2023, for one felony count of grand larceny and one felony count of taking a motor vehicle. Her bond was set at $20,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

April 23, 2023

On April 23, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a call for assistance at a business on North Second Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered Jason Chase Robbins, 38, of Booneville. Officers discovered Mr. Robbins was in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine. Mr. Robbins was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. His bond was set at $2,500.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

April 18, 2023

Detectives of the Booneville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division began investigating a report of a vehicle stolen in June of 2020 from a location on College Street and scrapped without the owner’s knowledge or consent. The investigation ultimately resulted in the apprehension and arrest of Christopher Lee Bishop, 37, of Booneville. Mr. Bishop was arrested on April 18, 2023, and charged with one felony count of grand larceny. His bond was set at $30,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

April 17, 2023

On April 17, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on August Circle. Upon arrival, officers encountered Jevin Ladrae Durell White, 23, of Booneville. Investigation on-scene led to the arrest of Mr. White for one felony count of aggravated domestic violence assault. His bond was set at $10,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury. The victim in this case was treated by emergency medical personnel on scene and released.

April 13, 2023

On April 13, 2023, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and officers from the Patrol Division arrested Jason Marshaun Miller, 35 of Booneville, for multiple felony offenses. Mr. Miller was charged with the following:

– One felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 20 grams but less than 30 grams with intent to distribute
– One felony count of possession of crack cocaine, more than 10 grams but less than 20 grams with intent to distribute
– One felony count of possession of powder cocaine, more than 2 grams but less than 10 grams with intent to distribute
– One felony count of possession of MDMA, a Sch. I substance, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams – One felony count of possession by a firearm by a convicted felon

Mr. Miller’s bond was set at $50,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

April 11, 2023

On April 11, 2023, detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division charged Boretta Wayne Oswalt with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 10 grams but less than 20 grams, and one felony count of possession of buprenorphine, a Sch. III drug, with intent to distribute. He was charged as a habitual offender and his bond was set at $100,000.00. Mr. Oswalt was out on bond for a prior felony charge. Therefore, the District Attorney’s Office is seeking to revoke his previous bond. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

April 7, 2023

On April 7, 2023, Booneville patrol officers responded to a call regarding a reported disturbance with a weapon involved at a residence on Oak Drive. Officers arrived and discovered one victim deceased and a one suspect who was immediately taken into custody. The victim was identified as 35 year-old Justin Anderson of Booneville. The suspect was identified as 22 year-old Camron Young of Booneville. On April 9, 2023, detectives of the Criminal Investigation Division charged Mr. Young with one count of murder in the first degree. His bond was set at $500,000. He remained in custody at the time of this release. Investigation is still ongoing. April 3, 2023

On April 3, 2023, a BPD patrol officer made a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a misdemeanor traffic violation on Hatchie Street near East Church Street. Investigation during the traffic stop led the officer to identify the driver of the vehicle as Marjanne Rechelle Wood, 54 of Booneville. The officer found Ms. Wood to be in possession of methamphetamine and subsequently charged her with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of a gram but less than 2 grams. Her bond was set at $5,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

March 29, 2023

On March 29, 2023, patrol officers responded to a location on Meadowcreek Road for a disturbance. The officers were provided a description of the suspect while in route to the call. They encountered a subject matching the suspect’s description walking away from the scene of the disturbance. The officers detained and investigated the suspect. As a result of their investigation, James Tyler WIlson, 28 of Booneville, was arrested and charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine, more than 1/10th of gram but less than 2 grams. Mr. WIlson was out on bond for a prior felony charge at the time of his arrest. Therefore, the District Attorney’s Office is seeking to revoke Mr. Wilson’s previous bond. His bond for this charge was set at $40,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.

March 7, 2023

On March 7, 2023, Detectives of the Booneville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division conducting a joint investigation with agents of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, arrested Fredrick Eugene Ragin, 51, of Booneville, and charged him with one count of possessing a firearm after having previously been convicted of a felony offense. His bond was set at $50,000.00. This case will be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.
